White Screen After Update
A blank white screen usually means cached files are outdated.
Solutions:
1. Clear Laravel Cache:
php artisan optimize:clear
php artisan optimize
2. Clear Browser Cache:
Press Ctrl+Shift+R (or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to hard refresh.
3. Rebuild Assets (Full Source only):
NODE_OPTIONS=--openssl-legacy-provider yarn build:production
Permission Errors
"Permission denied" or files not saving usually means incorrect ownership.
Solution:
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/pterodactyl/*
chmod -R 755 /var/www/pterodactyl/storage
chmod -R 755 /var/www/pterodactyl/bootstrap/cache
Replace www-data with your web server user if different (e.g., nginx, apache).
500 Internal Server Error
Check your Laravel logs for the specific error.
View Logs:
tail -f /var/www/pterodactyl/storage/logs/laravel-$(date +%Y-%m-%d).log
Common causes:
- • Missing .env configuration
- • Database connection issues
- • Missing PHP extensions
CSS/JS Assets Not Loading
Theme looks broken or unstyled? Assets may not have been built.
Solution (Full Source):
cd /var/www/pterodactyl
yarn install
NODE_OPTIONS=--openssl-legacy-provider yarn build:production
